I had been staying at the Kendai station for a few weeks. I was sent by the Concord Military to help bulk up security, though the present security officers did not see fit to give me any kind of clearance. When the power went out I was in my sleep quarters with Morden , a medic who came with me for the Concord, a Fraal ambassador from the Orlamu Theocracy, and a Mechalus from so where or other. With all the people here, it is hard to keep track. Morden, being a T’sa, manged to hack open the door to our room, and several others, as we headed toward the engineering floor. The Mechalus thought he might be able to turn the generator on from there. He also seemed to think that the engine should not have shut down on it’s own. believing that someone might have intentionally shut them down, we thought it best to retrieve our weapons from the storage lockers first. once we had retrieved our gear, and broken into the the engine room, we found that the engine was in working order, and the Mechalus started it up again. We also found some blood on the floor, and on a wall. The Mechalus told us that not all the systems were back on line yet, so we decided to go to the bridge, and see if we could find the Captain, or at least access the main computer. The Captain was not there, but the computer was on. It told the Mechalus that the captain was taken, the security was missing, and chief engineer was in her room. The Fraal and I left to go find the engineer, while the Mechalus stayed to play with a virus he found, while Morden guarded him. When we managed to get into the Engineer’s room, using a security pass Morden had found in the empty security room, we found the Engineer was sedated, but still alive. We took her back to Morden, be he couldn’t wake her up. The virus the Mechalus had found turned out to be what was keeping some of the ship’s functions down, including the communications. The Fraal and I left again to see if we could do anything in the com room.

Shortly after we got there, the Mechalus who’s name might have been Gepytilx, or Gerplytix told us that we were not to touch anything. Apparently the virus had infected the station’s satellites, and was designed to put all communications arrays around the galaxy out of commission. He was probably exaggerating a little (he seemed a little dramatic) but it didn’t sound good all the same. He turned the station’s guns on the satellites, and destroyed the ones that had the virus, then a ship landed in the docking bay.
It was most of the missing security guards, holding the captain hostage. They demanded that we give them control of the station, in exchange for the captain’s life. We had the Mechalus suck all the air out of the docking bay, suffocating 3 of them into unconsciousness. we took their weapons, dragged them out of the docking bay, and locked the doors again. After that, the security guards, who were the ones who installed the virus, and killed the rest of the security team, wouldn’t come out of their ship. they asked for a parley. The Mechalus had called for reinforcements when the ship landed, but we still had a couple of minutes before they got here, so the Fraal went out to stall them. We traded the hostages we’d taken for the captain, but when they got to their friends, they just killed them with a point blank shot from a stutter pistol. then they did the same for themselves.
The reinforcements arrived then and took over. destroying the virus and investigating who the men where. Also, apparently the Mechalus had launched another of the satellites into drive space, to get rid of some creature that was attacking it. It seemed to be a coincidences, so I didn’t ask him about it. The week after, the station opened on time, and a handful of ambassadors got to listen to the first transmission it sent. I wasn’t there, but I heard it wasn’t quite what was expected.
